Clinical trials are an indispensable component of medical progress and innovation.

Only clinical trials allow the systematic analysis of the efficacy, tolerability and safety of new and already approved drugs, medical devices as well as new forms of treatments or medical interventions; hence the need for clinical trials as a prerequisite for the continuous optimisation of diagnostics and therapy. The principal task of the CTCC as an institution of the Faculty of Medicine is the support of clinical trials in compliance with GCP, international directives, guidelines and standards.

This applies to trials conducted with industrial partners, academic partners (Investigator Initiated Trials, IITs), and trials initiated by faculty members. The CTCC aims at raising the number of clinical trials conducted in the faculty in accordance with national and international standards, and contributing to the increase in the number of clinical trial participants. Consequently, the CTCC provides its clients with a complete range of infrastructure and services. As such, it offers its support for the informed, effective and quality-assured implementation and execution of clinical research and develops projects from concept to publication.
